What is a MEWA?
A MEWA is a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement. MEWAs allow a group of small businesses to join together as a means to offer benefits outside of the government regulated health insurance exchange by sharing risk. MEWAs are typically medically underwritten as a way to control the controlled risk.
